Yuting (Christine) Wan
Christine Wan joined the Peterson Institute for International Economics as a research analyst in February 2024. She collaborates with Anthony M. Solomon Senior Fellow Mary E. Lovely, focusing on US-China trade relations, US trade policies, and supply chains.
Prior to joining the Institute, Wan worked at the UC Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC), where she delved into China's industrial policies promoting its renewable battery sector and explored the challenges Chinese battery producers face procuring raw materials and competing in the global electric vehicle market . Additionally, Wan participated in the Power Transformation Lab at the University of California, San Diego. During her time there, she coauthored a working paper that compares US and China perceptions of and policy responses to international risks in climate technology cooperation.
Wan holds a master's degree in international economics and management and China studies at the School of Global Policy and Strategy at the University of California, San Diego. She obtained her bachelor's degree in international politics from Fudan University. She is a native Mandarin speaker.
