Ryan Rutkowski
Ryan Rutkowski was a research analyst at the Peterson Institute from 2012 to February 2015. He worked with Senior Fellow Nicholas R. Lardy on economic issues relating to China. He joined the Peterson Institute after living and working in China for five years. Prior to that, he worked as a senior consultant for KPMG management consulting in Beijing developing China market entry and business expansion strategies. Prior to this he was a research associate for Z-Ben Advisors in Shanghai analyzing developments in China's asset management industry.
Rutkowski obtained his master's degree in international affairs with a focus on international economics and China studies from the Johns Hopkins–Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies in Nanjing, China. He graduated summa cum laude from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor's degree in economics, public policy, and international relations and minors in Chinese and Asian studies. He writes, speaks, and reads Mandarin Chinese fluently.
