Cathleen Cimino-Isaacs

Cathleen Cimino-Isaacs was a research associate with the Peterson Institute for International Economics from August 2012 to July 2017. She worked with Senior Fellows Gary Clyde Hufbauer and Jeffrey J. Schott on economic issues relating to international trade policy, free trade agreement negotiations, and the future of the World Trade Organization. She is coeditor of Trans-Pacific Partnership: An Assessment (2016), coauthor of Local Content Requirements: A Global Problem (2013), and assisted with Economic Normalization with Cuba: A Roadmap for US Policymakers (2014). She was also the manager of the Institute’s Trade and Investment Policy Watch blog.

Cimino-Isaacs obtained her master’s degree in international affairs with a focus on international economics from the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) at the University of California, San Diego. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian studies and political science from Columbia University. Cimino-Isaacs has past experience at the Hunger Project, Asia Society, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). She is proficient in Japanese.
