OK, so it is a bit off-topic but not entirely off-topic. As I have argued in a series of posts, initially here and most recently here, the literature on the "resource curse" has considerable relevance to North Korea's increasingly resource-centric economy. Wednesday, PIIE hosted a launch event for my new book co-authored with Cullen Hendrix, Confronting the Curse: the Economics and Geopolitics of Natural Resource Governance.
