Olivier Blanchard (PIIE) explains what is needed for Europe to build a deep and liquid Eurobond market as global investors increasingly question the safety and stability of the US dollar. His remarks follow on his widely discussed May 2025 proposal with Ángel Ubide (Citadel) where they argued that Eurobonds would provide the opportunity for Europe to achieve strategic autonomy and build a solid European defense system.
