Serra Pelin
Serra Pelin joined the Peterson Institute for International Economics as a research analyst in August 2024 and works with C. Fred Bergsten Senior Fellow Maurice Obstfeld. Her primary fields of research are international macroeconomics and monetary policy with a focus on emerging economies. Her work on the dominant role of the US dollar has been published by the International Monetary Fund and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Pelin is currently pursuing a PhD in economics at the University of California, Berkeley, where she received the Chancellor's Fellowship and the Clausen Center Graduate Fellowship. Previously she worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as a senior analyst in the research division. She holds bachelor's degrees in economics and mathematics from Brandeis University. She is fluent in Turkish and French.
