Madi Sarsenbayev, a 2019–20 Eranda Rothschild Foundation Junior Fellow,* joined the Peterson Institute for International Economics as a research analyst in September 2018. He works with Senior Fellows Monica de Bolle and Jeromin Zettelmeyer on issues related to macroeconomic policy, international finance, and political economy. Prior to joining the Institute, Sarsenbayev worked as a director of the IPO Preparation Department at National Company KazMunayGas JSC, a national oil and gas company of Kazakhstan. He also served in various positions at KazMunaiGas Exploration Production JSC, including as deputy director in the company’s Treasury and Corporate Finance Department.
Sarsenbayev holds a master’s degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government; a master’s degree in economics, finance, and management from the University of Bristol; and a master’s degree in business administration from KIMEP University.
