Claudia Biancotti
Claudia Biancotti, visiting fellow at the Peterson Institute from October 2018 to December 2019, is senior economist in the International Relations and Economics Department at the Bank of Italy. Her current research focus is on the regulation of technology companies, with emphasis on the effects of competition policy on the development of artificial intelligence. In the recent past, she worked on the economics of cybersecurity, and cybersecurity governance in central banks. She is also interested in emerging geopolitical risks, political economy, and nonparametric econometrics.
Biancotti earned an MSc in econometrics and mathematical economics from the London School of Economics in 2001 and a PhD in economics from the University of Turin (Italy) in 2005.
