Trump's vs. Biden's Plans to Prevent Another "China Shock"

Mary E. Lovely joined the Wall Street Journal to discuss the effects that both President Biden's and former President Trump's tariffs proposals would have on China and the United States. While Biden's strategy has been more targeted by incorporating tariffs to spur American industrial policy, Trump has argued for dramatic, across-the-board increases.

Lovely argues that Trump’s increase in tariffs would hurt lower- and middle-income taxpayers more heavily than the top 1 percent.
