Yuan Liu

Yuan Liu joined the Peterson Institute for International Economics as a research analyst in May 2025. She works with Reginald Jones Senior Fellow Chad P. Bown on trade policy issues.

Before joining the Institute, Liu was a research fellow at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center, where she worked on projects related to climate finance and international debt. She also served as a research assistant in international macroeconomics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

Liu holds a bachelor's degree in labor economics and financial technology from Renmin University of China and a master's degree in international economics and finance (MIEF) from Johns Hopkins SAIS. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
