Soyoung Han

Soyoung Han was a research analyst at the Peterson Institute for International Economics from July 2018 to August 2020. She worked with Executive Vice President and Director of Studies Marcus Noland on a variety of topics including gender issues, international trade, and North Korea. Before joining the Institute, she worked as a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She also interned at Sandler, Travis and Rosenberg, P.A., a trade consulting firm, and Amber Road, a trade management software provider.

Han received her bachelor’s degree in international studies and economics from Yonsei University in South Korea. She earned her master’s degree in international economics and finance from Johns Hopkins University SAIS with distinction. Her previous research topics include the welfare effects of free trade agreements in the Pacific region and trade policy uncertainty with respect to the Generalized System of Preferences program.

Han is fluent in English and is a native speaker of Korean.
