Jolly La Rosa
Jolly La Rosa, research analyst from 2009 to 2011, worked with Senior Fellows Arvind Subramanian and C. Randall Henning. Her research areas span regional cooperation and integration to international economic institutions and international political economy. She assisted in Institute research projects that included Eclipse: Living in the Shadow of China's Economic Dominance (2011), Renminbi Rules: The Conditional Imminence of the Reserve Currency Transition (Working Paper 11-14), Coordinating Regional and Multilateral Financial Institutions (Working Paper 11-9), Equity in Climate Change: An Analytical Review, Reconciling Climate Change and Trade Policy (Working Paper 9-15), and Can Global De-Carbonization Inhibit Developing Country Industrialization (CGD Working Paper).
She worked as a consultant at the Office of Regional Economic Integration of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and as a senior economic development specialist at the National Planning and Policy Staff of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) in Manila. She performed development and research work on regional cooperation and integration and wrote articles for the ADB on critical issues relating to Asian countries' growth prospects and emerging policy challenges and conducted impact analyses on proposed legislations as well as provided comments on various national policy issues for NEDA. Additional research experience includes an internship at the USDA-Economic Research Service in summer 2008.
She received her bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of the Philippines Los Baños and an MA in international development from International University of Japan as a Japan-IMF scholar. A recipient of the 2007 Milton W. Feld Fellowship, she graduated with an MA in international economics and finance from Brandeis University.
