Jeroen Dijsselbloem, minister of finance of the Netherlands, discussed economic and financial reforms at a PIIE event on April 14, 2016.
Minister Dijsselbloem is also president of the Eurogroup, a position he has held since January 2013. The Board of Governors of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) also elected Dijsselbloem as its chairman in 2013. He was appointed to his current position as minister of finance in the Rutte-Asscher government in November 2012. Dijsselbloem was a member of the Dutch House of Representatives from 2000 until taking up his ministerial post.
