Congressman Sander "Sandy" Levin spoke on "Reshaping US Trade Policy in a Globalizing Economy" at the Peterson Institute on March 29, 2011. He addressed a wide range of trade issues, including the three outstanding free trade agreements, his reflections on the Colombia FTA based on his recent visit to that country, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the preference and Trade Adjustment Assistance programs that have recently expired, and the Doha Round and US participation in the World Trade Organization.
Congressman Levin is ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee and was former chairman of both the full Committee and its Trade Subcommittee. He has played a leading role on trade policy for many years and continues to work actively on its many facets.
