PIIE Joins Other Groups in Think Tank Diversity Consortium Event

Event Summary

The Peterson Institute of International Economics is a proud member of the Think Tank Diversity Consortium (TTDC), a group of think tanks dedicated to increasing the recruitment, retention, and advancement of people of diverse backgrounds in the policymaking world. Sandra Barrett, PIIE’s director of human resources, played a key role in organizing the event, which was held at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, as the Institute’s management representative to the TTDC. The keynote speaker was Carnegie president and former deputy secretary of state William Burns. Editorial Fellow Pedro Nicolaci da Costa moderated a panel on career options in policymaking, which featured Carnegie’s Karim Sadjadpour, Molly Reynolds of the Brookings Institution, and College Park, MD city council member Mary Cook. PIIE research analyst Fredrick Toohey also played a key role by staffing the Institute’s information table at the career-development focused event.
