Event Summary

The US-EU Trade and Technology Council will hold its second high-level meeting in Paris on May 16. What has happened since its creation six months ago? Important working groups were created to enhance cooperation in important areas such as semi-conductors, artificial intelligence, and export control. Since then, we have had the outbreak of a terrible war in Ukraine and subsequent sanctions that have shaken the global world order and the international economy. European and American partners have coordinated successfully on sanctions; can this cooperation lay the foundation for deeper joint work on trade and technology?
