China's banking sector has grown rapidly over the last decade to become the largest banking jurisdiction in the world. Even though it remains dominated by large state-controlled institutions, it has become more diverse and complex. This session will provide an opportunity to take stock, including on recent cases of Chinese bank failures, the role of banks affiliated with Alipay and Tencent, and prospects for foreign entry into China's banking market.
