Arkady Dvorkovich, economic aide to Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, delivered the speech "Current Economic Policy Issues in Russia" at the Peterson Institute on April 13, 2010.
Dvorkovich is also Russia's Sherpa for the G-20 and G-8 summit meetings and one of Russia's top young western trained economists. He is one of the first graduates from the New Economic School in Moscow, which is partnering with the Peterson Institute and CSIS in the Russia Balance Sheet project, now entering its third year of activity. He also has an MA degree in economics from Duke University. He was Head of the Economic Experts Group in Russia's Ministry of Finance during the late 1990s, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade from 2001–04, and head of the Presidential Experts' Directorate during 2004–08. He has held his present position since May 13, 2008.
