Prime Minister Kevin Rudd of Australia delivered his speech "The Global Economic Crisis: The Need for Global Action," March 26, 2009, at the Institute. The Prime Minister will attend the G-20 summit in London on April 2.

The Honorable Kevin Rudd became the 26th Prime Minister of Australia in December 2007. He has been a member of Parliament since 1998, serving as shadow minister for Foreign Affairs of the Labor Party from November 2001 and Trade from 2005, and becoming the 19th leader of the Party at the end of 2006. Prior to his service in the national government, Mr. Rudd worked in the private sector as senior China consultant for KPMG Australia and was a senior official in the Government of Queensland after having begun his career in Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs, where he served in the embassies in Stockholm and Beijing.
