On March 31, 2022, the newly established International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) started a consultation on its first two proposed standards, one on general sustainability-related disclosure requirements, and the other on climate-related disclosure requirements. We review the ISSB's planned next steps, simultaneous developments in individual jurisdictions such as the European Union and the United States, and what it means for companies and investors.
