Tony Kornheiser, former sportswriter and humor columnist for the Washington Post, color commentator on Monday Night Football, current ESPN opinion-spewer on "Pardon the Interruption," and most importantly local radio show talkmeister, (available on podcast, but expect delays) last appeared in this blog declaring North Korea "the most innovative country on Earth."
Provoked by news items read by his producer "Nigel" (whose English accept sounds suspiciously like Dick Van Dyke's in Mary Poppins if you catch my drift), in a couple of recent broadcasts Mr. Tony turned to geopolitics, kvetching about North Korea. Unfortunately the clips below miss the allusion at the start of one broadcast to Dennis Rodman--the guffawing tells you all you need to know--remember this is the man who, after Rodman put out his memoirs, "Bad As I Want To Be," released a book titled "Bald as I Want To Be." Guest David Aldridge--also former Washington Post and ESPN, now with TNT--gets in the best line: "It's a two punch fight...and we're throwing the second punch and then the fight is going to be over."
