We are always interested in the way that art might cast light on historical and contemporary issues on the Korean peninsula, particularly film and the visual arts; see our handful of posts on the topic here. We were recently alerted to an exhibition along the DMZ that opened in July and is running through late September called the Real DMZ Project. Organized by Artsonje, the exhibition is really a trail of work in Cheolwon, Gangwon-do installed along the regular tourist tour of the area. The 2012 version of the project is better documented online and looks intriguing. Museum Publicity provides a brief review and information on the linked works being exhibited at the Artsonje Center in Seoul. Through September 22, for our friends who plan to be in Korea.
