As we mentioned a couple of weeks ago, in conjunction with the release of the fourth edition of David Hawk’s The Hidden Gulag, the Committee for Human Rights on North Korea (full disclosure: I’m on the Board) launched a Hidden Gulag blog. Now they have launched another blog, HRNK Insider, devoted to the inside baseball of human rights diplomacy. The first post is by Christine Chung, formerly a Political Advisor to the Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, so she knows of what she speaks. In this post, Chung provides a comprehensive rendition of the Human Rights Council’s first official panel on North Korea which took place last week in Geneva. For those of us who did not have the opportunity to attend in person, the account is invaluable.
