This past week the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Human Rights held a hearing on North Korea. It features testimonies by two prison camp survivors, Kim Hye-Sook and Kim Young-Soon, as well as our friends and fellow travelers Suzanne Scholte from the North Korea Freedom Coalition and Greg Scarlatoiu who recently became the Executive Director of the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea. One issue that comes up towards the end is the deportation of Falun Gong members from South Korea to China, where they face harsh punishment. The parallel between their situation and that of North Korean refugees forcibly repatriated by China is both regrettable and obvious. Here is the video.
