We are so accustomed to the provocations and the large formations, marching in goosestep, that is easy to forget the human face of the bloated North Korean military. Eric Lafforgue has provided us with some of the more interesting images of North Korea.

Via the Telegraph, we were alerted to a new suite of work that captures a number of KPA soldiers--men and women--not only at work but on leave and at play. We thought it would be a fitting post for Memorial Day.

Yet disturbing images are impossible to avoid. In one propaganda poster, a group of children dressed as a soldier, sailor, marine and nurse take target practice on the head of a US solider. The text reads "its exciting to beat up the American bastards."
