Adam Johnson Reading from "The Orphan Master's Son"

Thanks to Walter Clemens for alerting us to this reading from Adam Johnson’s fascinating novel. Set in North Korea, Johnson shows an uncanny ability to get into the heads and daily lives of his North Korean protagonists, in this case an interrogator. The passage captures both the horrible power asymmetries in the system and the way the guardians themselves are also trapped by it.
