Carlos Gomez

Carlos Gomez is the media relations and outreach director at the Peterson Insitute for International Economics. Prior to joining the Institute in January 2024, Gomez spent his career in the private sector implementing strategic communications and public policy initiatives on behalf of clients in Congress, the executive branch, and the media.

With extensive experience in the energy, defense, and public health sectors, Gomez helped lead numerous outreach and engagement campaigns on issues including energy security in Europe and diversified green energy initiatives at defense installations, as well as the development of numerous successful corporate-public partnerships. In the wake of the COVID-19 global pandemic response, Gomez's work focused on public health and food security constraints in sub-Saharan Africa.

A native of western Massachusetts, he received a BA in Government from the University of Redlands.
