The election of Javier Milei, a far-right libertarian economist, reflected Argentina’s eagerness to move beyond the failures of its Peronist past, writes Monica de Bolle. But delivering a way out of Argentina’s chronic record of hyperinflation, debt defaults, recessions, and unemployment will require tough choices and may take years.
