The Trump administration’s aggressive tariff policies are compelling countries around the world to diversify their trade portfolios away from the United States. Two PIIE scholars who are former trade negotiators from the European Union and South Korea argue that the EU and South Korea should overcome their misgivings and join the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
