Swedish Finance Minister Anders Borg discussed the continuing impact of the European crisis at the Peterson Institute on April 18, 2013. Minister Borg reviewed the lessons to be learned from Sweden's record as the most successful European country to weather the global financial crisis of 2008–09. He also discussed prospects for recovery for the euro area and Europe more broadly.
Borg became Minister for Finance in 2006 and has been widely recognized as the chief architect of the Swedish government's economic policy, adopting a series of proactive measures to create jobs and maintain growth. This will be his third appearance at the Peterson Institute.
